Step It Up!

Our goal is to lower the employees BMI’s with a program that counts the amount of steps they have walked, jogged, ran, or any other means that are effectively counted by the pedometer. At the beginning of this program we will get the height and weight of the employee and convert the numbers into their BMI (Body Mass Index) to indicate where they are at on the BMI scale. We will also be giving each participant a pedometer and have them split up into 6 groups for support.  The program will be completed by each of the groups on their own time since employees don’t meet at the worksite every day. The lottery incentive will be explained at this time too, the team with the highest amount of steps at the end of the program will get a paid day off of work.  Every two weeks each group will email the log of the amount of steps they have completed unless it is a day they have a meeting.  The participants in each group will also have to weigh themselves just to keep them on track with what their goal of the amount of weight they want to lose.  The groups that send in their steps sheet and their weight will be put in the lottery to win money at the end of each month of this program.
